UNDER 21 DRIVERS
Drivers under 21 years of age face a different point schedule than drivers over 21. It is further broken down for drivers under 18 years of age. For drivers under 18, your license will be suspended for 6 months if you accumulate more than 4 points in a 12 month period. The driver would be required to take a defensive driving class, retake the Georgia driver’s exam and pay the reinstatement fee. For Drivers 18 to 20 years old, accumulating any 4 point violation will result in a 6-month license suspension.
There are several violations that can automatically suspend your drives license if you are Under 21. Some of these include:
- Speeding (24 MHP or greater)
- Hit and Run
- Reckless Driving
- Aggressive Driving
- Racing
- Fleeing and attempting to elude
